The 37th edition of Fajr International Theater Festival has announced the winners, with three foreign plays grabbing awards.
The winners were announced at an award ceremony that was held in Tehran on Saturday.
Foreign plays from Belgium, Georgia and France were awarded at the ceremony while the festival’s Grand Prix Award was nabbed by ‘(Fore)named’ directed by Ali Asghar Dashti from Iran.
‘(Fore)named’, written by Keivan Sarreshteh, also succeeded to clinch several other awards at the festival.

Best Sound Design:
Farshad Fozouni for ‘Flight Instructions for the Crew and Pilot’, written and directed by Farhad Fozouni from Iran
Best Lighting Design:
Ezequiel Garcia-Romeu for ‘The Small Theater from the End of the World’, written and directed by Ezequiel Garcia-Romeu from France
Best Movement Design:
Ehsan Hemat for ‘I Put A Spell on You’, written by Yasen Vasilev and directed by Ehsan Hemat from Belgium
Best Makeup:
La’ya Kharaman for ‘Oblomov’, written and directed by Siavash Bahadori Rad
Best Music:
Navid Gohari for ‘Promethues/The Plague’, written and directed by Shahab Agahi from Iran
Best Costume Design:
‘Fool’s Life’, based on a novel by Japanese writer Ryūnosuke Akutagawa and directed by David Doiashvili from Georgia
Best Scenic Design:
Farhad Fozouni for ‘Flight Instructions for the Crew and Pilot’, written and directed by Farhad Fozouni from Iran
Best Actor:

Best Playwriting Award:

Best Director:
‘(Fore)named’, written by Keivan Sarreshteh and directed by Ali Asghar Dashti from Iran
Best Play (Grand Prix):

The 37th edition of the event was held in Tehran on February 11-23.
The FITF also awarded plays that competed in eight other categories, including posters, 'Iran-1' and 'Iran-2' competition sections.
The annual Fajr International Theater Festival has been held in Iran since 1983, featuring local and international theatrical works and performers.
